Poppe + Potthoff Maschinenbau GmbH supplies compressor units and pressure control systems of up to 400 bar for various gases. We offer ready-to-connect units to increase the existing pressure for pneumatic and hydraulic applications. In this way, the performance of existing systems can be increased flexibly and efficiently. Air-water / air-air heat exchanger as smooth tube heat exchanger up to 1,000 ° C Smooth tube heat exchanger as an air / water heat exchanger In the case of air-water heat exchangers (also called gas-water heat exchangers), a temperature exchange takes place between a gas (usually air) and a liquid. As a rule, the liquid medium flows inside the pipes, while the gaseous medium flows around the pipes outside the pipes. Smooth tube heat exchangers can cover various areas of application: heating, cooling and condensing as well as heat recovery. Smooth tube heat exchanger as air-to-air heat exchanger Smooth tube heat exchangers are also often used as air-to-air heat exchangers. In this application, a gas (e.g. exhaust air or exhaust gases) flows inside the pipes and a gas (e.g. fresh air) outside the pipes around the pipes.

Finned Tubular Heaters are the ideal solution for air or gas flow heating processes. The ribs enlarge the heat-releasing surface significantly. Basis of the finned tubular heaters are our 8.5 mm tubular heaters. The outer diameter of the fins is 28 mm. The elements can be delivered straight, U-shaped or circular (special design on request). Tubular heater as well as fins are made of stainless steel, the standard for the tube is 1.4828 (other materials possible as in chapter Round Tubular Heaters), the fins are normally made of 1.4301 (1.4571 on request).

Liquids (for instance raw materials or end products) are stored in canisters, drums, IBC containers or storage tanks. Solids and bulk materials, on the other hand, are stored in bags, big bags, silos or various special containers. IFA Technology offers sound and safe handling for the storage of liquids, solids and bulk materials as well as suitable storage containers such as customised shelves, tank farms or silo systems. We check and control among other things the compatibility of the substances, the effect of environmental influences as well as the conformity with legal requirements. We ensure compliance with various regulations such as the German Water Resources Act (WHG) or Explosive Atmospheres Directive (ATEX) by means of temperature-controlled storage tanks and the blanketing of the relevant substances by means of nitrogen, dry air or gas displacement systems or their circulation via agitators or circulation.

Flottweg Sedicanter separates solids from liquids. Its special feature: the solids consist of a sediment with properties ranging between soft and fluid. ATEX certified flameproof thermostats ATEX II 2 G/D EEx d IIC T6 The Exheat „AFT“ flameproof thermostat are ATEX certified, suitable for installation in zone 1 or 2 and 21 or 22 hazardous areas. It has external adjustment enabling quick & accurate variable control for liquid, gas and air applications.

There are two different construction types.   It's possible to create a design using a  little construction space using the customer's data. The Thermo-Fluid S is connected directly between the oven pipe (or the heating system) and the chimney.  The operating temperatures are up to 300°C (standard). The Thermo-Fluid S is low maintance with low pressure drop in the flue gas. Depending on the application you can have energy savings up to 15 %.     A bigger construction is the Thermo-Fluid M, which is optimised for utilisation of waste heat from process air, flue gas or exhaust air. An energy yield of up to 1600 kW is possible, whereupon the pressure drop in the process air is less than 1.5 mbar. The pressure drop in water circuit is less than 200 mbar.   This Shell and Tube heat exchanger is low maintance using the small type of construction. The Thermo-Fluid M modular and the standard temperatures are up to 300°C too.    Both Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are low maintance. One-off or

• THERMO-DK are used for the reliable regulation of air, superheated    steam and flue gas flows. The maximum permitted temperature may be,     depending on design, up to 600°C.  • In order to systematically avoid corrosion problems, we exclusively     use stainless steal alloys to make our THERMO-DK valves. Explosionproof/flameproof gas preheater EEx d -ATEX und IECEx zertifiziert In general a cooling down takes place at expansion of gases whilst a heating takes place at compression. Typical gases are carbon monoxide, natural gas and air. The temperature change, which occurs at expansion of gas or gas mixture from a high to low pressure i.e. after a gas pressure control is called Joule-Thomson effect. In order to prevent the effects of Joule-Thomson as icing or condensate separation, the gas will be heated up before expansion. The gas pre heaters are suitable for all kind of gaseous media (i.e. air, natural gas, technical gases, fuel gas) and low flow process applications, suitable for pressures up to 300 bar. The “Cast electric heaters” type flameproof electrical gas pre heaters are certified for use in zone 1 or 2 hazardous area, custom built to meet client specification. The gas pre heater consists of a process tube coil and an electrical heating bundle, casted in aluminium. The process gas flows through the tube coil and is heated by the aluminium block that provides the heat transfer. This indirect electric heating gives an accurate control of the process and eliminates pressure vessel design and associated costs.

CSN® Explosionproof screw plug or flanged immersion heaters ( Ex ) are perfectly suited for direct heating of liquids or gas / air mixtures in hazardous areas. The devices are available with attached or integrated temperature monitoring systems. For these heaters various high quality stainless steel grades are available. The electical immersion heater type 94./..EEs….T.(.) is designed for the heating of liquids and quit gasair mixtures in the zone 1 and zone 2. The standars elements, mentioned in this list are suitable for DGRL (code 97/23/EG) Art. 3 Para. 3. The elements can be suited (on request) to other uses requiring another classification according to DGRL.

Temperature control of gaseous and liquid media Flat tube heat exchangers are generally used as air / air or air / liquid heat exchangers. Flat tube heat exchangers are used where the (exhaust) air is polluted and the installation space is limited. In heat recovery in particular, there are numerous applications for flat tube heat exchangers as so-called exhaust gas / exhaust air heat exchangers. Little installation space and less pressure loss While the rows of tubes in smooth tube heat exchangers consist of round tubes, the rows of tubes in flat tube heat exchangers have a special profile (see illustration). This special tube profile offers advantages over the round profile in certain applications. Flat tube heat exchangers require less installation space than smooth tube heat exchangers with the same exchange area and are therefore also lighter.

IFA Technology designs and implements the right exhaust air purification system for every pollutant. Exhaust air scrubbers are used for exhaust air purification of exhaust air streams from industrial processes loaded with harmful gas. These exhaust air purification systems work according to the principle of absorption and separate pollutants present in the exhaust air in the liquid phase. Depending on the substance, pollutants are either physically dissolved or chemically bound by the addition of lye and/or acid. We consider your individual requirements and build customised exhaust air purification systems for you. With the companies Wessel-Umwelttechnik and Airprotech we have competent partners within the Deurotech Group at our side to develop special and complex systems for exhaust air purification.

Temperature exchange between a gas and a liquid In the case of air-water heat exchangers (also called gas-water heat exchangers), there is a temperature exchange between a gas (usually air) and a liquid. Finned heat exchangers can cover various areas of application: - heating and evaporating, - cooling and condensing as well as heat recovery. In this context, lamellar heat exchangers are also called air heaters or air coolers. Air-water heat exchangers are often also used as exhaust gas heat exchangers or flue gas heat exchangers in order to recover the energy from warm or hot exhaust gases. Lamella packs for a large exchange area In order to achieve the largest possible exchange surface between the air and the medium (liquid) within the heat exchanger, lamellas or lamella packs are attached to the pipe system.

Air heat exchangers as finned tube heat exchangers Heat transfer between a gaseous media and a liquid Finned tube heat exchangers are often called air/water heat exchangers or gas/water heat exchangers. Heat transfer between a gas (for ex. air) and a liquid (for ex. water) takes place in the air-/water heat exchangers. To improve the thermal output transfer from the gas to the liquid, fins made of well heat transferring materials are put on the tubes. Very often air-/water heat exchangers are used as exhaust heat exchanger to gain the energy out of warm or hot exhaust fumes. Finned tube heat exchangers can also be used as air heater, air cooler or condenser.

The withdrawal system can be used to dispense high-purity liquids quickly and without complications. An excess pressure is produced in the container with pressurised gas (compressed air or nitrogen), thereby pumping the liquid out of the tank. The advantage of operation using pressure gas is that the user can extract even large amounts without effort while having both hands free to dispense the solvent. In this way, large amounts of hazardous media such as acetone, ethanol and methanol, etc. can also be safely dispensed and accurately metered using the stop cock. For use with media sensitive to oxygen or for ultra-pure media, operation with an inert gas (e.g. nitrogen) is possible. The barrel screw connection and shut-off valves seal off the barrel and pump hermetically. This means that no vapours containing solvents can escape after dispensing, thereby protecting users' health and the environment.
