There are three main types of infrared emitters. They are classified according to emitted wave lengths. Which emitter type is the best for your application depends on many factors. For most applications an optimum match of emitted wave length and absorption of the target material is desirable. This means a highly efficient transfer of radiation energy in the material and thus a very quick heating. However, there are exceptions to the rule. At very high required energy densities, cyclical processes, transparent, thin or low-conductive materials it might be necessary under certain circumstances to deliberately use emitters whose characteristics deviate radically from the absorption characteristics of the material to be processed. Finally, in many applications, including thermoforming, all three basic emitter types are successfully used – long wave ceramic emitters, medium wave quartz emitters and short wave halogen emitters.

Luminance standards and radiance standards are used in photometry and radiometry, in particular for the calibration and characterization of cameras and optical measuring devices. Another application is the determination of reflection, transmission and absorption properties of materials. Luminance and radiance standards are homogeneous light sources that have a uniform brightness over their entire emitting surface and emit almost perfectly lambent and uniformly in all directions. The mode of operation is based on the principle of the integrating sphere. The integrating sphere consists of a hollow, spherical structure with a highly reflective inner surface. This surface is coated with a diffuse reflective coating of barium sulphate, which scatters almost 100% of the incident light. This property enables the sphere to distribute the light evenly in all directions and eliminate directional effects.

In the last few years KLN has enlarged their hot plate welding machine program „TOOLMASTER“ and their vibration welding machine program “LVW” by the infrared welding program. The KLN machine program of „pure“ IR welding is based on the hot plate machine program „TOOLMASTER”. Machines for infrared heating should be equipped with servomotor drives in order to guarantee simple, quick and exact positioning. For welding by means of infrared technology short-wave (0,78-2 μm) as well as medium-wave (2-4 μm) infrared radiation of the spectrum can be used. This depends particularly on the radiation absorption capacity of the respective polymer material. The more precisely the radiator is adapted to the absorption capacity of the polymer material, the higher is the degree of efficiency, that means the conversion into warmth. Short waves are absorbed in deeper layers of the material, whereas medium waves heat it up more at the surface.

HIGH PERFORMANCE ACOUSTIC INSULATION FOR A QUIETER ENVIRONMENT ArmaSound RD is a versatile acoustic absorber designed for use in a variety of different acoustic applications. A high performance sound absorber which also offers additional barrier (transmission loss) performance and both vibration damping and de-coupling (isolation) properties. Delivering optimal performance at lower thicknesses than traditional materials, ArmaSound RD is a uniquely advanced open cell acoustic insulation material. Depending on the thickness chosen, ArmaSound RD240 offers excellent sound absorption behaviour across the frequency range. With a density much greater than traditional acoustic absorption materials, ArmaSound RD is also suitable for some applications that may also call for an acoustic airborne noise barrier. ArmaSound RD provides a dust and fibre free solution that is suitable for use in a range of demanding environments. The adhesive for superior Armaflex® system reliability

Silica Gel is a granular, transparent and permeable silicon oxide, synthetically produced from sodium silicate. The material structure and chemical composition result in many positive properties that would not be possible with other materials. High water absorption, heat resistance, high resilience, nontoxic and tasteless, without caustic agents. High water absorption Universal application options Costeffective Silica gel is spherical and narrowpored. The glasslike spheres consist of approx. 98% silicon dioxide. Due to its large inner surface, silica gel is suitable for absorbing large amounts of moisture. Silica Gel is ideally suited to protect sensitive goods or other sensitive goods from moisture damage. Our silica gel bags are suitable for electrical appliances, textiles and even food. The bags absorb the air inside the bag when used correctly, no condensation is formed and the product is protected from moisture damage.
