As soon as the thermal inkjet printer has printed the serialisation data, the integrated vision system checks that the data is correct. If an error is detected (e.g. insufficient grading), the product is removed from the process and fed to a lockable collection box. It is not taken into account during the formation of the aggregation pedigree and is ejected and marked in the shift register as soon as the error is detected. As soon as the filling quantity per carton is reached according to the specified packing scheme, the system automatically generates a serialized label for the shipping carton. It is applied manually by the operator and confirmed by a handheld scanner that the aggregation label has been applied.

This workstation enables the manual serialisation of drug packages and their aggregation into shipping cases. For this purpose, each individual box is first printed with order-related serialisation data by a thermal inkjet printing system as it passes by and then manually placed in a shipping carton. As soon as it is filled, the downstream thermal transfer label printer creates an individual serialisation label. The correct print data and print quality are permanently monitored by a vision system. The operator places the medicine products to be serialized on a reference edge at the infeed. As soon as the thermal inkjet printer has printed the serialisation data, the integrated vision system checks that the data is correct. If an error is detected (e.g. insufficient grading), the product stops at a certain position marked by red LEDs. The removal of the rejected product must be confirmed by pressing a button on the HMI.

Transport and drive rollers must provide precise transport of the print media in the digital printing process. This is especially true for wide format inkjet printers. Tracking lines, artifacts on the printout, or paper feeding failures are not accepted by the end-user. The marking in production can be designed even more efficiently using the WINJET3 software from LEIBINGER. WINJET3 software gives you centralized control and monitoring of up to 16 LEIBINGER JET3up inkjet printers using a computer. The software takes over complete control of all important printer functions remotely. WINJET3 is set up similarly to existing JET3up software, which makes it very easy for users to understand. The software allows you to prepare any number of print jobs.

With the production planning program JETedit3 you can create print jobs and graphics for the inkjet printer LEIBINGER JET3 even at your desk, far away from the printer. Is the printing data for the particular job created, it is saved and it can be transferred via Ethernet or RS232 connection to up to 16 JET3 printers. The transfer of jobs and data from machine to machine by USB-stick is not necessary anymore.
