The resistance thermometer in clamp-on technology is used for temperature sensing and process control, mainly for sterile applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.The resistance thermometer can be quickly and easily fitted to all existing pipework. There are no changes necessary to the piping and no welding required. The resistance thermometer can be supplied with a built-in transmitter.

Thermowells are generally used where they remain in the measured medium and only the temperature sensor is to be replaced or retrofitted or the measured media must not touch the temperature sensor directly. Thermowells also provide protection against mechanical stress. Labom thermowells are manufactured according to national standards or to customer specifications. The corresponding Labom dial thermometers and temperature measuring transmitters are optimally adapted to them in metrological terms.

The change in resistance, dependent on the measurement temperature, can be detected by a transmitter and converted into a standardized signal.
