The performance of an assembly tool is highly dependent on the conditions of the actual production joint on which it is used, which is where joint kits come in. Joint kits are an essential accessory for accurate off-line testing of powered assembly tools. Tooling engineers are well aware of the "mean shift" term used to describe the different torque delivered by the same tool when applied to a soft or a hard joint as defined by ISO 5393. It is therefore essential in testing and setting up tools off the production line to allow for the joint conditions which the tool will experience on the job. Crane's joint kits satisfy this requirement by using a bolt and suitably configured disc washers allowing free running of the bolt and a subsequent torque gradient to closely match the production joint condition. Workbench mounted Torque Transducer. Crane’s stationary transducers are the quality choice for the testing of all continuous drive, impulse and hand torque tools in the workshop and production line-side environment. For best results with impulse tools we recommend the use of a Crane CheckStar rotary torque transducer with a suitable joint kit rather than a stationary transducer. Stationary transducers are used off the production line in workshop or line-side test stations. Combined with joint kits that represent the production joint condition, the stationary transducers form an effective off line test for verification of assembly tool performance. By measuring torque, the CapStar can ensure the correct level of tension is in place on a wide range of caps and closures such as on medicinal or cosmetics containers, drinks bottles or food jars etc. With the CapStar’s clear display and easy-to-view torque results, operators are able to guarantee production quality whilst ensuring contents – which could be potentially harmful – remain sealed and secured. The CapStar helps to ensure the safety of products, prevent leaks and reduce the ergonomic issues associated with these products without compromising on safety, quality or freshness. For optimal power management, the CapStar automatically switches to the highest voltage power source to save on battery life, yet still giving the option to pick it up and unplug to seamlessly run on battery power. The CapStar is supplied with an adjustable component fixture for measuring bottles and containers, and is available in 2Nm, 4Nm and 6Nm ranges.

Torque Readout with built-in Transducer. The basic, easy-to-use readouts include a built-in torque transducer and has a variety of measurement modes including track, peak, pulse and click. The ReadStar TT can be used as a portable device or fixed permanently using the mounting bars. The new and improved torque tester incorporates a bigger and clearer OLED screen display to view readings and results and the redesigned, easy to use keypad offers a familiar feel with simple function keys to effortlessly switch between modes and settings. The new internal memory now allows for a massive 999 readings to be stored and the addition of a new micro USB port allows for a wider range of connections for printing and exporting data. The new port also allows for additional power options. The ReadStar TT is supplied with a built-in transducer and a standard rundown adapter, and is available in 0.5Nm, 1Nm, 4Nm, 12Nm and 30Nm ranges. The TCI Multi allows the user to connect up to five Wrenches to be used in assembly production, allowing for complete control of your torque tools and peace of mind for safe recording and logging of vital data. The WrenchStar Multi can be connected to the TCI Multi at the push of a button. The TCI Multi allows easy management, set up and diagnostics of itself via Web Browsers. The TCI Multi can be used stand alone and jobs can be selected and results sent to a PC or Web Page. The TCI Multi accepts Open Protocol commands via Ethernet to select a Job to use with the WrenchStar Multi. The TCI Multi has Web Status Page that allows Ethernet properties, RF properties, logging of messages, and Wrench status to be monitored. Web Page mirrors last Torque and Angle reading from Wrench plus its Torque status (LO, OK and HI). LED lights show real time status of the Wrench connection on the unit. Connection to Crane rotary torque transducers is also possible using the RFm wireless device.

The WrenchStar Multi digitally records torque & angle data and connects either wirelessly or with a cable option, to our IQVu data collector. The WrenchStar Multi has a 360° Light Ring that is completely visible at any angle. The torque wrench can be used wirelessly or with a cable option. It has a small OLED display that is clear and bright and shows how many Jobs are left. There is also a strong vibration alert when reaching the desired torque level. The Wrench will connect wirelessly using RF to the IQVu. If the Wrench goes out of range then it will continue to take readings, which once you are back in range it will automatically connect to the IQVu and send the data. The WrenchStar Multi can store around 200 readings within its internal storage so you can continue to work offline before having to return to the IQvu to send your Jobs. The quick change battery allows less downtime in production.

The NEW electrically-safe, insulated WrenchStar Multi-e digital torque wrench has been developed for ‘live’ electric vehicle and electric battery assembly environments and to meet the ever-growing global demand for insulated tooling. The insulated wrench complies with the IEC 60900:2018* standard, applicable to insulated hand tools used for working with or close to live parts. The wrench is also finished with insulated components giving added protection for the user in high voltage applications and security against product failure due to electrical damage.
