In the plastics compounding and manufacturing process there are many powders (all with different flow properties) which require handling. For the vacuum conveying of both free-flowing and non-free-flowing powders, motan has a solution. The METRO P series of hopper loaders are available in two versions and guarantee reliable and dust-free conveying. The METRO PC system loaders are designed to be integrated into centralised motan conveying systems. The METRO PB single loaders are designed to be used as a “stand-alone” solution. With the METRO G/F/R material loaders, large quantities of granulate, dusty regrind and flakes can be conveyed automatically to the hopper of a processing machine, drying bin or day bin. Filters with sophisticated cleaning technology and large outlet flaps guarantee trouble-free operation. Via the hinged lid, free from vacuum and material hoses, the loaders can be quickly and easily cleaned during material changes.

Grooved blind rivets are suitable for riveting in blind holes in soft materials. They are used in the furniture industry, in interior fittings, in the wood and plastics processing industry, in car body construction and many more. Important: Before processing the grooved blind rivets, the drill hole diameter must be determined by testing and the minimum drill hole depth must be observed.

The systems of the VEE model series are ideally suited for labelling medium-sized containers such as buckets, paint cans and canisters in all industries such as food, chemicals, paints and varnishes - regardless of whether these are oval, round or rectangular plastic or metal containers. Depending on the customer's requirements, the products can be aligned before the labelling process, and any plastic or metal handles can be brought into the position required for labelling. ProTec designs and supplies innovative solid-state polymer post-condensation lines and complete PET bottle flake recycling lines. The batch tumble reactor which combines homogeneous mixing with short processing times is the keystone of the line. The IV value (intrinsic viscosity as a yardstick for molar mass) of polyesters (PET, PBT, PTT etc.) and of polyamides (PA6, PA66 etc.) can be purposefully increased by precise control of temperature, vacuum and processing time, with or without defined addition of auxiliaries.

KLN develops and manufactures punching machines with precise curve design at the surface, for example to punch holes for the distance sensor holders or lamps in lacquered bumpers. Realisation of high-precision round or angled holes, but protection of the part; also suitable for already lacquered surfaces.

Based on a long tradition of ultrasonic processing KLN Ultraschall AG also today develops and builds edge-welding machines for textile back injection molded parts. Here in very complex fixtures the textile overlap is put around the part and fixed by means of special sliding technology. This is a highly complex task and requires sound experience in construction and optimisation of the assembly. Here the important know-how is the tool design and not the machine technology. After “edge folding” the stretched textile overlap is permanently bonded with the plastic by means of ultrasonic technology or permanently heated elements on the back of the plastic part.

Thermal edge folding is a process for connection of textiles with plastics. It is often used in the automotive industry in the field of pillar panelling (e.g. A-column; B-column; C-column, etc.). This process does not create an adhesively joined connection, but the basic textile fibres grip into the melted plastic material.

In the last few years KLN has enlarged their hot plate welding machine program „TOOLMASTER“ and their vibration welding machine program “LVW” by the infrared welding program. The KLN machine program of „pure“ IR welding is based on the hot plate machine program „TOOLMASTER”. Machines for infrared heating should be equipped with servomotor drives in order to guarantee simple, quick and exact positioning. For welding by means of infrared technology short-wave (0,78-2 μm) as well as medium-wave (2-4 μm) infrared radiation of the spectrum can be used. This depends particularly on the radiation absorption capacity of the respective polymer material. The more precisely the radiator is adapted to the absorption capacity of the polymer material, the higher is the degree of efficiency, that means the conversion into warmth. Short waves are absorbed in deeper layers of the material, whereas medium waves heat it up more at the surface.
