At Befort, spherical precision optics pass through the hands of qualified specialists. They work with a sure instinct and stateoftheart technology. The machine processing of each surface is done on CNC grinding and polishing machines. We produce spherical precision lenses from optical glass, quartz glass and radiationresistant materials with diameters from 3 mm to 130 mm and a curvature radius from 1.18 mm to plane. We make individual lens elements, achromatic systems, concave mirrors, cylinder lenses and other precisely fitting glass geometries to suit your specific application.

Befort develops and manufactures laser optics for a wide range of applications since more than 20 years. Befort offerings range from a simple AR coated protective glass with a high laser damage threshold to a complex focus readjustment unit for ultrashort pulse lasers (Zoombox). Our laser optics are made of high quality Schottglass or quartz glass. Befort coats the optics precisely for their wave length. The coating exhibits a particular high laser damage threshold (LDT). Coating substrates is one of our core competences. We have been coating precision optic components with optically effective layers ever since 1948. Over the years, technical specifications and possibilities have radically changed. We now have several highvacuum plants, an ultrasound cleaning and drying plant at our disposal to treat the substrates. We also build our own equipment e.g. for asymmetrical prisms. The fully automated assembly station VersaGlue takes components, such as lenses or dies from a loading area and mounts them by epoxy gluing with UV or thermal curing. The large work area of up to 1000 mm x 1000 mm provides space for the positioning of device trays and support systems. The parts are presented manually or fully automated. Feeders or stop-motion conveyor belts bring the parts to the working area and collect the finished product. The VersaGlue processes optoelectronic elements like VCSELs, photo diodes, laser dies and micro optics with highest precision while the passive placement of fiber ribbon cables is another major application.Thorough design and continuous optimization of all functional groups lead to superior mechanical stability. Mechanical references with tight tolerances provide a repeatable manufacturing operation from device to device.
