SOMOS® RDX attachment dryers are designed for drying small volumes of polymer pellets with throughputs of around 8 to 10 kg/h using in-plant compressed air. They are ProTec's way of providing an economic alternative to conventional drying systems (e.g. adsorption dryers): the compressed air technology used combines perfect drying results with minimal operating costs and virtually maintenance free operation. SOMOS® RDX is available in 38 container sizes of 1 l to 82 l.

SOMOS® RDM mobile dryers are designed for drying highly flowable, hygroscopic polymer pellets and regrind. They can be used flexibly as auxiliary units for supplying processing machines for moderate throughputs which is a particular advantage for frequent material changes. The mobile dryers, with their attractive, functional design, consist of a dry air generator and an insulated stainless steel drying bin. They are optionally available with an integral dry air conveying unit for automatically feeding the processing machine. The dry air generator uses the SOMOS® single chamber system making highly efficient use of desiccant. As a result, the desiccant can be regenerated quickly and energy-efficiently, providing cost benefits for the processor. Having five graduated sizes of drying bin with an effective volume of 30 l to 400 l, the dryers are capable of flexibly pre-processing a volume of material suited to the processing machine's throughput right by the machine.

The SOMOS® RDF dryer is used for drying hygroscopic polymer pellets. It consists of compact RDF modules which can be flexibly combined, are capable of autonomous operation and have drying capacities of 10 kg/h to 250 kg/h per module. The modules are available in 7 sizes with a volume of between 30 l and 600 l and a drying are volume between 10 m3 and 180 m3, each one being individually controllable by its own controller. Alternatively, when interconnected, they can be controlled using a common operator control unit. Each module has an integrated air generator, so ruling out complete failure, as may occur with a centrally supplied drying system.

These small pellets are made of pure, binderless sintered glass, and represent a completely new substrate for use in bioreactors. The open-pored structure of approx. 40...100 µm permits microorganisms to accumulate in the cavities between the sintered glass particles. This ensures that even deeply-embedded cells are supplied with the surrounding medium. Moreover, the material's high purity and its smooth surface provide optimum conditions for high cell growth. The LUXOR CA S 0.75 to 5 range of compressed air micro dryers is specifically designed for small material throughputs. The range comprises of a modular line of correctly sized drying equipment to help moulders meet the small tolerances without waste or contamination. These small dryers take factory supplied compressed air which is expanded to atmospheric pressure.
