Replacing pneumatic cylinders with electric linear drives can save up to 90 % of energy consumption. In addition, there are numerous advantages in motion control. n the micro and micro-drive sector, IAI offers small mini slider types that easily replace pneumatic cylinders due to their identical design and simple control mode. They are suitable for mounting fixtures, workpiece positioning, table motion and many other applications. In the RCP3 series, the smallest models are available as a slider types with sliding spindle. The latest developments are the space-saving mini slider types of the RCA2 series with 24 V servo motor.

LRK-C mit Antrieb LRK-A Electrical tote tank mixers for stainless steel IBCs The LRK-C series tote tank mixer and their drive units LRK-A are a special solution designed for operation on stainless steel containers with filling openings of at least 400 mm and mixing volumes from 400 l up to 1,500 l. The customer may choose between various viscosity-related basic versions of fast-running and slow-running mixers with electric drives. The mixing unit that remains in the container is connected to the drive unit with a bayonet coupling and a clutch. The drive is dismountable so that one drive unit can be used for several mixer units interchangeable. The tote tank mixers CR-E are designed for operation on plastic containers with filling openings of 150 mm and volumes from 600 l up to 1,200 l. The customer may choose between various viscosity-related basic versions of fast-running and slow-running mixers with electric drives. The agitator shafts are connected to the drive shafts with sleeve couplings or borne within the gear’s hollow shaft (worm gears). The agitator shafts are balanced for concentric run after assembly. The mixer is mounted on a container traverse bridge, which is included in the scope of supply and clamped with a rapid fixing system to the cage frame of the IBC. The plastic bulk of the container is therefore not harmed by any static or dynamic loads by the agitator. The fixing of the traverse bridge is adjustable for various container models. The impellers are designed to fit through the filling opening 150 mm when being inserted. The electric container mixers are delivered with on-/off-switches with low-voltage breaker.

Electric linear actuators from IAI are available as rod, slider and slide table types as well as with toothed belt drive. They are equipped with a stepper motor or servo motor and often already have a battery-free absolute encoder as standard. On request, they can also be supplied without an electric drive unit. The product range of linear actuators consists of the RoboCylinder series, which are characterised by high user-friendliness, simple programming as well as compact design. Their focus is on covering common customer requirements and are therefore relatively inexpensive. Electric slider type actuators and axes with toothed belt drive from the IntelligentActuators product line complete the product portfolio. They meet higher requirements than RoboCylinders in terms of payload, speed, acceleration and precision.

Toothed belt linear actuators from IAI are particularly suitable for high speeds, rapid accelerations and strokes between 200 mm and 3,200 mm. All actuators have a compact frame geometry and optimised cross section for maximum rigidity and load bearing capacity, making them resistant to twisting and deformation. The linear rod type actuators from the RoboCylinder series are available with 24V stepper motor, 24V servo motor or 230V servo motor. They are characterized by their compact design, mechanical stability and high positioning accuracy of up to ± 5 μm. The linear actuators are available in two design variants: As a directly driven rod type with motor in extension of the cylinder longitudinal axis and as a shorter variant with deflection, in which the motor and axis are parallel to each other. Both variants are also suitable as heavy-duty electric actuators for high payloads. In addition to the standard version, many linear actuators are also available as cleanroom versions and for special environmental conditions also as dustproof, splashproof or waterproof models with IP54 to IP67 protection.

RoboCylinder & IntelligentActuator Slider Types Slider type actuators are mainly used for transporting and positioning workpieces horizontally or vertically. Increasing Trend: Production in the Cleanroom IAI actuators in cleanroom design are frequently used in the electronics and semiconductor industry, photovoltaic production and medical technology. Due to constantly growing requirements and new legal regulations, they are also increasingly used in other production areas where dust or dirt particles are to be avoided. Stainless steel dust protection band All IAI cleanroom products are classified in ISO cleanroom classes for the maximum permissible particle concentration per m³ of air. With a stainless steel dust protection band, the actuators are sealed and ISO cleanroom compliance is achieved by drawing the air inside the enclosure. Furthermore, the sealed construction also allows the unit to be used, for example, in vertical and horizontal directions (in lateral position), i.e. in the mounting forms that were previously only possible to a limited extent.
