The brand name includes digital audiobook players and recorders that we develop and produce for the blind, visually impaired, and the visually impaired. PLEXTALK offers people with vision or reading disabilities better access to the world of reading by providing them with audible book players and recorders that comply with the DAISY standard. Shinano Kenshi Co. Ltd. develops and manufactures a variety of auxiliary products that allow blind, visually and read-disabled people to participate actively in society and to lead an independent lifestyle. The products, available under the PLEXTALK brand name, are already being used by many blind, partially sighted and physically disabled people, including librarians, volunteer translators, book authors / publishers, students, teachers, senior citizens, rehabilitation centers and social care workers around the world.

From traditional product technologies to completely original product concepts Schaaf has been at the forefront of extrusion technology in developing practical and easily manufacturable products that have an instant appeal for consumers. The attraction of these products is perhaps that they can be easily identified as traditional or known food products whilst having a certain novelty that makes the consumer wonder "how did they manage to make this product?!" A special product might be a well-known product that is currently made using a process that has limitations in terms of investment, production capacity or perhaps a very complex production process. When a similar product can be manufactured using extrusion technology, it is termed a special product. It must be noted, however, that no alternative technology can ever duplicate the processes of another technology exactly. Products made using different processes will always reveal some differences between them.

NanoHybrid provides a large degree of versatility. The active alignment, test and assembly station combines various assembly methods including gluing, laser welding or selective laser soldering. In addition, the station offers opto-electronic testing capability. Therefore, NanoHybrid is ideally suited for the development and small serial production in manufacturing companies or in research institutes. In such a product development area, an active alignment station needs to cope with opto-electronic and other precision devices with varying sizes and characteristics.
