As a combination of blind rivet nut and screw, blind rivet nut studs offer an alternative or replacement for welding studs. The following applications are particularly suitable for the use of GESIPA® blind rivet nut studs: • Accessibility from one side only • Thin carrier materials (sheet metal, plastics, etc.) • Necessary pre-centering • On heat sensitive application materials (e.g. welding not possible) • Surface coatings must not be damaged • Production of electrically conductive joints • Fast replacement of welding studs (repairs) GESIPA® blind rivet nut studs can be set without any problem with the GESIPA® blind rivet nut setting tools FireBird®, GBM 95 and FireFox® using corresponding adapters (see tool description) for blind rivet nut studs

The blind rivet connection itself is a non-detachable connection. However in order to be able to attach further detachable components GESIPA® has the threaded blind rivet in its product range. The threaded blind rivet has a stud with M5 or M6 external thread to which further parts can be mounted using an additional nut.

With its compact design the tool sets blind rivet nuts up to M12. Furthermore the GBM 40-R has a great application access and low weight. The ratchet function provides a very good power transmission. The exchange of nosepiece and threaded mandrel is possible without any tool. Nosepiece and threaded mandrel are also compatible with the GBM 50.

A wide grip range: A single PolyGrip® blind rivet can replace to up to fi ve different dimensions of DIN standard blind rivets. • Outstanding hole fi lling capability: The rivet body expands radially during the setting process and compensates hole tolerances, centering deviations and differences in diameter, thus always building up a playfree and tight joint. • Safe rest mandrel locking: PolyGrip® blind rivets neither generate rattling noises due to free moving rest mandrels nor do they allow the risk of loss of the rest mandrel. • Splash waterproof are the PolyGrip® blind rivets under certain conditions too. The GESIPA® TRI-FOLD® blind rivet forms three press lashes on the closing head side during setting. The advantages The large moulded lashes distribute the exerted clamping force evenly and gently onto the riveted material. Also, the large surface of the lashes offer excellent protection against the rivet being pulled through very soft, porous or brittle application parts. Thanks to its special design, the TRI-FOLD® is also able to compensate over-dimensional or irregular drill hole diameters. GESIPA® profile clinching blind rivets are ideal for maintaining defined distances during component assembly or for setting a stop in running rails. Accordingly this special rivet is used in the white goods and furniture industry among others.

Expanding blind rivets are required when soft or porous components such as wood, hard fiber, fiberglass or plasterboard are to be joined together with a high clamping force. During the setting process the mandrel drops out of the hollow rivet and on the closing head side the mandrel divides the hollow rivet into four parts. These then claw into the material. Typical applications are plastic and wooden element assembly, caravan construction and the fastening of interior trim.

Grooved blind rivets are suitable for riveting in blind holes in soft materials. They are used in the furniture industry, in interior fittings, in the wood and plastics processing industry, in car body construction and many more. Important: Before processing the grooved blind rivets, the drill hole diameter must be determined by testing and the minimum drill hole depth must be observed.

The combi setting tool Flipper® Plus is a combi setting tool for blind rivets and blind rivet nuts. A tool-free conversion from blind rivet to blind rivet nut setting tool is possible in under one minute in just a few simple steps. The ergonomically designed hand tool has a new ratchet function. The force increases when the handle is closed. This finding is put to good use in a special lever arrangement for setting blind rivets and blind rivet nuts. The required manual force is reduced by around 40 percent if actuated several times. Due to an actuation lever with an opening spring the tool can be used easily for a single-handed operation. The jaw mechanism with spring reset arranges a safe and automatic mandrel ejection. The rivet mandrel collection container can be clipped to the body casing and is easy to empty. The larger device lift is a benefit when handling extra long blind rivets. The Flipper® Plus offers a simplified setting procedure for blind rivet nuts.

The FireBird® Pro S Gold Edition with mechanical setting stroke adjustment. When setting a blind rivet nut size of the same length in consistent material thicknesses constant setting stroke should be used. The setting stroke corresponds to the distance the mandrel is drawn into the nose piece during the setting process and thus how far the blind rivet nut is upset. With the setting stroke adjustment this path can be set mechanically on the setting tool.
