The round tubes are manufactured from a coil that is bent and electric resistance welded (ERW). The forming process can be according to EN 10210, which foresees hot forming or cold forming followed by heat treatment, or according to EN 10219, which foresees cold forming without following heat treatments. The finished product is fully killed and welding seam bead is inside and outside trimmed. These products are used to manufacture both welded and bolted structures, in the field of constructions, engineering, industrial constructions, transports, automotive, agricultural machinery and earth moving machinery. The cold finished tubes are particularly suitable for structures at sight or for aesthetical uses, thanks to the surface aspect typical of cold forming. This welding technology provides perfect process control with the BEHAbelt HP01 hot press especially developed for belt profiles and the associated PPuls Element temperature control for sophisticated industrial production of a welded connection. Thanks to the small design and a number of smart design details this hot press is perfectly suitable for onsite use and in confined spaces. The unit can be made upon request of the customer as a water or aircooled version. HP01 is the best choice for the best welding results in particular for the production of overlap welds of belt profiles.

Elastic monolithic PU conveyor belts from BEHAbelt offer new fabrication possibilities. Due to the lack of traction layers joining by finger welding is no longer necessary, as the monolithic belt has a homogeneous design – even in the weld seam. The welding device HS from BEHAbelt is a simple, handy, reliable and costeffective tool for butt joining of monolithic belts. Depending on customer requirements, two versions are available with the joining table and heating paddle for max. belt widths up to 400 and up to 800 mm. The simple operation in combination with the intuitive production aids ­enables a repeatable and highquality connection of the belts. Optional adapter plates ensure precise positioning and clamping of the butt ends to be welded.

The unique friction welding machine RS02 is the professional tool for the maintenance operator and also the fastest and most reliable way of welding belt profiles. Constantly good quality connections are produced in a few seconds with repeatable accuracy due to fixed welding parameters. Welding clamping jaws tuned to the respective profile ensure reliable clamping and perfect alignment of the profile. Thanks to its handy type of construction, the friction welding machine can even be used in narrow space conditions for comfortable welding. The ­recently developed battery version is now available to ensure unlimited freedom of motion.

Plastic-coated steel cablestrands are cut to length using a special shear cut module and then stripped with the cutting module of the AM3500 without the wires "jumping open".Bare steel cable wires are transported by the modified AM 3500 directly to the special cutting machine, which is coupled between the AM 3500 and the material stacker and which cuts the material to length by a thermal process. Due to the special electric welding process used here, the individual wires do not twist up during cutting, and a smooth rope start and a smooth rope end without thickening are produced. Long steel cable wires/strands are placed in a tray after processing, while short pieces of material fall down a chute into a collecting container. With the high-performance solution developed by Metzner, the customer can process different types of material in different processes. Further advantages of the machinery are high precision, high quality, an increase in productivity and lower personnel costs.

The new handwelding gun model is characterized by greater flexibility in handling and application. One advantage, for example, is that the converter is no longer inextricably linked to the gun but can be easily replaced by the customer himself. In addition, it is now possible to turn the sonotrode and converter into the desired working position in just a few simple steps. Moreover, if the working frequency changes, only the converter has to be replaced. The practical ultrasonic handheld welding device is suitable for "mobile" welding of single applications with a straight grip (model HSGG). It is excellently suited for repair, postprocessing, small series production, and for manual workstations in applications such as ultrasonic welding, cutting, rivets, or punching. With its complete synthetic design, it is very light.

Testing & Certification of welded structures and electrical conductors

The rutile-basic-coated special-purpose electrode has a non-conductive and water-repellent coating for manual wet underwater welding. It is suited for assembly and repair welding in up to 20 m water depth for offshore and harbour construction, shipbuilding, and steel hydraulic engineering. High-quality welds require appropriate weld preparation, well-trained personnel, and compliance with recognised standards of good practice.
