This robust, vertical installation machine is specifically designed to install Compression Limiters into a variety of plastic components. The machine is available in two models: the CL1000 is capable of 4.4 kN (or 1,000 lbs.) of installation force and the CL2000 is capable of 8.8 kN (or 2,000 lbs. of installation force, and is available with multiple installation tips in nearly any configuration at various elevations. The incorporation of a touchscreen operator interface machines makes our machines easy to use and customisable. Language conversion is easily executed to support international use. The Model CL is equipped with installation verification to ensure that the machine has completed a full installation cycle and a Compression Limiter was installed at each location. The Model CM Manual Compression Limiter Installation Machine installs Compression Limiters ranging in diameter from M3 to M10 metric and #4 to 3/8" unified, and has a maximum insertion force of 0.9kN (200 lbs).

A fuel injection systems manufacturer used two steel brackets to clamp the fuel rail to the top of the engine. The customer was looking at changing these brackets to plastic to reduce costs. In order to prevent deformation of the plastic bracket during the tightening of the bolt, a Compression Limiter was required. The customer originally investigated the use of a machined Compression Limiter, but the savings from changing the metal bracket to plastic would have been lost considering the high price of the machined Limiter. The customer approached SPIROL to help provide a lower cost solution for the Compression Limiter. SPIROL recommended the use of a standard CL200 Compression Limiter based on the rated proof load of the bolt used in the assembly. This roll-formed Compression Limiter is a fraction of the cost of a machined Compression Limiter. In addition, the flexibility of the roll formed Limiter enabled the customer to widen their hole tolerances further reducing assembly costs.

In the injection moulding process TPE pellets are fed into the machine through a hopper and then into a heated barrel. The heat from the barrel turns the material into a liquid resin which is then injected into a closed mould under high pressure. After allowing the molten polymer to cool, the finished part can be removed from the mould. Injection moulding is a high-volume, high tooling cost process, the advanced properties of our TPE compounds deliver short cycle times allowing parts to be produced at a rapid rate. Compact - minimal compression: With its new designed geometry microFIN feather elements interlock with the bellow elements. This enables the whole construction to achieve a compression of 2,4 mm per lamella. In comparison to regular bellows which have a relatively high compression rate, the whole machine stroke can be greatly enlarged. Anti-Scratch: With its unique coating at the bottom of each fin (lamella), scratching is prevented and the lifetime of the cover is increased significant (up to 70%). Additionally it increases the tightness against coolants and chips. (available for lamellas up to 1500 mm width) Exchange: Each lamella is removable from the bellow - corpus without disassembly of the whole cover systems. This is achieved by a plug connection between corpus lamella and protection lamella. Damaged lamellas can be removed easily and cost-effective. Fabric: Due to its modular construction, an additional fabric can be added to the cover system.

The SMA 30-A series is available in an electrical or compressed-air operated design. The machine is designed for handling steel, aluminum, copper and plastics. A chamfer width of up to 8 mm is possible in NE metals and a chamfer width of up to 6mm in steel. In addition to this, a radius processing of 1.2mm to 6mm is feasible. The stunning and patented 8 or 16 cutting turning plate system guarantees long service life, best surface qualities and efficient working. The electrical design of the SMA 30 is equipped with a speed control and should be preferably used for stainless steel processing. The cutter heads are available for chamfer angles 30°, 45° and 60°.
