Material Schulz Stanztechnik manufacturers these axial ball bearings using the materials suited to the specific application. For the housing, steel, brass or stainless steel are used; for rings, steel or stainless steel which is always hardened. The balls are made of chrome or stainless steel, which is also always hardened. All material combinations – depending on their conditions of use – are possible for the assembly of the individual parts. Various surface coats for the individual parts can be supplied as well as finished bearings: brass which is uncoated or nickel plated; steel and stainless steel which is uncoated, zinc plated or nickel plated. All bearings are available lubricated or unlubricated. Structure DLG100 axial ball bearings consist of sheet metal housing, two hardened rings as well as hardened precision balls. STEEL GRADES The standrard stock of chromed bars consists of steel grades C45 or C45E or C45R and 20MnV6 in untreated delivery condition (+AR) and 42CrMo4 in quenched and temperd delivery condition (+QT). DELIVERY CONDITIONS The solid bars subjected to chroming process are available in different delivery conditions in orde to obtain specific properties. NORMALIZATION Heat treatment consisting heating process followed by gradual cooling in controlled atmosphere. Thanks to this process the steel structure becomes more "refined" and improve its impact properties (perlitic structure). INDUCTION HARDENING The surface of the steel bar is heated by electric induction followed by fast cooling. This process leads to a high surface hardness but also to fragility and low impact values (Martensite surface structure). QUENCHING AND TEMPERING Quenching process followed by tempering. This process leads to a good hardness and resistance and it reduces its fragility in comparsion to induction...

Keiper CROMA high-performance flat belts are made of fully synthetic polyamide foils, with a one-sided or two-sided adhesion coating of chrome-split leather. Fitted with a polyamide reinforcement. With a one-sided or two-sided coating of chrome-split leather, highly resistant to abrasion and wear. Chrome-split leather is used exclusively as a friction coating on power transmission belts as an alternative to nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR). CROMA belts with a coating of chrome-split leather are perfect for power transmission applications where the rollers are considerably contaminated by oil and dirt. In view of its slightly porous surface, chrome-split leather is air and humidity permeable and absorbs moisture; thus, it retains friction. However, the coefficient of friction of leather is lower than that for nitrile-butadiene rubber and steadily decreases during operation.
