The laminated epoxy-fiberglass material Scotchply™, developed and patented in 1954 by the 3M company, has been processed by Prause Durotec into high performance leaf springs since 1974. Today, using the same improved fibre reinforced composite material, Prause Durotec processes and distributes composite leaf springs under the protected and registered product name S-Ply®.

Novelis aluminum converter foil is a part of the light- or thin-gauge product group, ideally between 5 and 70 μm. They form flexible laminates with supporting materials like polymers or paper and additional lacquering and coating. Novelis is a preferred source of converter foil for global players in the flexible aluminum packaging industry, where it is then subjected to further processing, including laminating, extrusion, lacquering and printing, embossing and cutting. The versatility and flexibility of the products enable our customers to create a diverse range of packaging solutions, finding end applications across diverse industries such as food – including butter packaging and cheese packaging – pharmaceuticals, wraps, bottle capsules, laminated tubes, pouches and more.

For sophisticated decorative materials Press laminating is mainly used to process materials that are unsuitable for vacuum processes, such as textiles, materials with and without foam backings or non-stretchable cover materials like leather or Alcantara. Processing these materials requires high quality tooling and machinery to ensure the quality of the grain, the soft touch and the color remain intact. The decorative element and the substrate are usually laminated together by being pressed between two hard instruments. Precise decor positioning and tool arrangements ensure optimal laminating conditions. Other forms of laminating include leather laminating and membrane laminating, which combines press laminating, edge folding, trimming.
