Only the best for our forests Nowadays, forestry bears responsibility for numerous important tasks and is increasing not only in its commercial, but also in its environmental and social significance. In addition to continuous production of renewable raw materials (mainly wood) it is assuming the task of forest conservation, not least as a protected and recreational space for mankind and the animal kingdom. The predominantly municipal forestry operations are directed for the performance of these tasks at mobile woodcutters and robust wood chipping machines. We have supported the forestry industry for many years with our longlasting choppers and counterknives, as well as with shredder knives.

The automatic feeding of tools from the tool magazine to the machining spindle is implemented in modern machining centers with the aid of a tool changer. At the same time, this device is used to return tools to the tool magazine. Reducing non-productive times is an important criterion for increasing the efficiency of machining centers. The chip-to-chip time is directly positively influenced by a fast tool change, i.e. a short tool change time.

The first examples of which were built by CMC TEXPAN in the early 1990s.They are aimed at cleaning the material ow fed into the machine byremoving any possible contaminants, the density of which is higher than that of the processed wood chips, e.g. stones, sand, metals, rubber, coarser chipsetc.The principle of operation is based on densimetric separation chieved in a vibratory box. In addition to the vibration of the machine casing, the materialow is subjected to a strong, pulsating air ow, enhancing the separationeect and providing for further “dry leaning” of chips. Heavy contaminants (e.g. stones, glass, rubber and plastic) are removed from the material ow,discharged from the machine side and conveyed to further re-classication,while clean chips are discharged from the machine’s front end.
