Stainless steel flanges are a crucial component in various piping systems, providing ease of assembly and strength in connecting pipes, valves, pumps, and other equipment. They serve as a plate for covering or closing the end of a pipe and are commonly used in plumbing, oil and gas, petrochemical, and food industries due to their durability and corrosion resistance. Types and Specifications Stainless steel flanges come in several types to suit different applications: Weld Neck Flanges: Designed to be welded to the pipe. Suitable for high-pressure applications. Slip-On Flanges: Easily slide over the pipe and are welded in place. Socket Weld Flanges: Used for smaller, high-pressure piping. Threaded Flanges: Attached without welding, ideal for low-pressure applications or pipes with a thin wall. Blind Flanges: Used to seal the end of piping systems or pressure vessel openings. Lap Joint Flanges: Used with stub end fittings for applications requiring frequent dismantling.

For 90° cable entries and safe outlets from switchgear cabinets PFLITSCH UNI elbow solutions enable cables to be taken safely around corners up to 90°. These cable glands have an angled cable gland body made from die-cast zinc or PA plastic. Elbow cable glands achieve the same technical values as the UNI Dicht® standard models. The variants with a rotating coupling can direct the component leg in any direction 360° around the attached leg in order to achieve the best cable entry. PFLITSCH makes these as standard products in sizes M16 to M40 and Pg 9 to Pg 36. To feed cables at an angle into/out of switchgear cabinets or machine housings, PFLITSCH produces various short and long flanged elbows in die-cast zinc and PA plastic. They are screwed tightly on to the housing and can accept – depending on the version – cable glands in sizes M16 to M63 and Pg 9 to Pg 48. An inserted o-ring securely seals the flange to the housing.

Safety sight glass type 585 with double glazing Use: Sight glasses with safety viewports of Type 585 are designed to withstand the maximum allowable pressure with only one single glass plate intact. This way, pressure containment is guaranteeed even if one of the glass plates is damaged. Between base and intermediate flange an O-Ring seal ensures tightness even if the inner glass plate has failed. Type 585 is a true safety sight glass!

For the conveying of gaseous materials. Gas-tight fans If the conveying medium of a fan must not be allowed to penetrate to the outside (e.g. gases that are harmful to health), our fans are equipped with a multi-chamber labyrinth seal on the shaft gland. Depending on requirements, the seals are provided with a sealing gas connection or a grease seal. Under certain circumstances the sealing gas can also be connected to the suction side of the fan. Naturally the flange connections are sealed accordingly and the fan housing is welded gas-tight and tested.

Anti-corrosion flexible one-sided self-adhesive butyl sealing strip, made of highly elastic, synthetic rubber (butyl) of soft rubber-like texture. It adheres reliably without heating. The butyl sealing strip is driven apart by the contact pressure, but due to its elasticity and plastic properties it penetrates into the smallest joints and unevenness and thus provides an optimum sealing. It can be drawn out to wafer-thin films by hand. Even high contact pressure level is not able to destroy the film. It seals rivet and screw joints, flanged and folded connections. Sealing between metals prevents galvanic /electrolytical corrosion. Does not corrode Plexiglas, metal, wood, oil- and synthetic resin paints and does not contain any corroding ingredients.

The piping system consists of high-grade NiroSan® press fittings with an EPDM (=ethylene propylene dien rubber) moulded sealing ring and NiroSan® stainless steel system pipes according to EN 10312. All NiroSan® press fittings are made from the premium stainless steel type 1.4404 / AISI 316L (for pressing components) and 1.4408 (for precision cast threaded stainless steel components). The material 1.4404 contains at least 2.3 % molybdenum, yet less carbon than the conventional type 1.4401. Thereby these materials are not only of equal value but in addition, material 1.4404 / 316L stands out on account of its considerably higher corrosion resistance.
