The European Drinking Water Directive 98/83/EC describes water as our most important good and thus highlights the importance of its protection. Drinking water is of high value as it has a direct impact on human health. For drinking water installations, that means that planning, construction and operation of a drinking water system should not cause illnesses due to mistakes or errors. A regular test for drinking water is prescribed in the Directive 98/83/EC.
