Differentiation between DIN / EN and ANSI Eyeglass blinds according to DIN differ from eyeglass blinds according to ANSI in terms of pressure levels, sealing strips and materials. In German-speaking countries, glasses blind disks are also called blind disks or throttle disks. However, the English terms “spectacle blind”, “blind paddle” are also often used in Germany. Pressure levels according to DIN / EN The following pressure levels for blanking disks according to DIN are available PN 6, 10, 16, 25, 40, 63, 100, 120, 160 and 250. Sealing strips The following shapes are available for sealing strips: A, B1, B2, C, D, E, G and H. Materials The steel materials P 265 GH and P 355 NL are available. The blind rivet connection itself is a non-detachable connection. However in order to be able to attach further detachable components GESIPA® has the threaded blind rivet in its product range. The threaded blind rivet has a stud with M5 or M6 external thread to which further parts can be mounted using an additional nut.

The FERO-BULB series are used in large quantities in various industrial appliances for a long ti me. Particularly in the field of vehicle and tank construction, this type of rivet is an excellent choice. The GESIPA® TRI-FOLD® blind rivet forms three press lashes on the closing head side during setting. The advantages The large moulded lashes distribute the exerted clamping force evenly and gently onto the riveted material. Also, the large surface of the lashes offer excellent protection against the rivet being pulled through very soft, porous or brittle application parts. Thanks to its special design, the TRI-FOLD® is also able to compensate over-dimensional or irregular drill hole diameters. Application areas TRI-FOLD® blind rivets are excellently suited for the automotive field, e.g. for plastic panelling, car body parts and for the interior work inside vehicles, but also for all other applications that are particularly soft, brittle, easily deformed or porous.

Blind rivet nuts with continuous hexagonal (Hexaform) or partial hexagonal shank (Hexatop) are another possibility to avoid the rotation of the fastener in the component as alternative to knurled shafts. Especially with coated components or when using tools smaller working stroke you can achieve excellent results.

Durable, robust, and reliable: the hand tool VNG 371 for the processing of blind rivet nuts (M5 to M10) and blind rivet bolts (M5 to M8). The VNG 371 is supplied in an impact-resistant plastic case and equipped with a comfortable drill rod for the easy lowering of the set connector and a quick-change system for the mandrels.

GESIPA® blind rivets are also available in colour to match the application. To guarantee the best possible durability the hollow rivets are painted using a two-component epoxy resin paint in a stow enamelling process. In addition to the visual benefi ts, the painted blind rivet also has added protection against corrosion. Aluminium blind rivets are best suited for this procedure. In the long-term they achieve the desired visual effect when joining coloured parts. GESIPA® blind rivets are available in the standard RAL colours. On request, steel blind rivets are also available in RAL colours or even special colours. Another method for colouring blind rivets and for protecting them against corrosion is to anodize them. The Eloxal method is more complex but is the most durable process for coloured blind rivets.

The strong CERTO®-PERFECT special sealed blind rivet forms a large and smooth closing head by its special clamped rivet sleeve. This head makes sure that the danger of pull through in case of oversized bore holes can be reduced to a minimum. Additionally the tightness in standing water is increased significant.

The classic form of blind rivet nuts with parallel shank for use in dry and grease-free components . The availability in aluminum, steel and stainless steel with all head shapes (flat head, countersunk head and small countersunk head) in sizes from M3 -M12 provides a large choice for all applications .

SFM-PL folding blind rivet nuts are constructed for those applications where a high pull-out strength is requested. The slottedshaft makes the rivet nut split into four straps with a wide contact surface that guarantee an equal distribution of forces especially on plastics and other vulnerable materials. HONSEL ALFO® FLEX blind rivets have been specially optimised for often problematic riveting in very soft materials or with slightly too large drill hole diameters. Due to the thinner wall thickness of the blind rivet sleeve, less force is required to deform the blind rivet sleeve. This improved deformation leads to a higher residual rivet mandrel locking. A thinner wall thickness of the blind rivet sleeve also means less influence on the hardening fluctuations caused by the annealing process. Result: The riveting function is much more consistent compared to conventional rivets. A wide grip range: A single PolyGrip® blind rivet can replace to up to fi ve different dimensions of DIN standard blind rivets. • Outstanding hole fi lling capability: The rivet body expands radially during the setting process and compensates hole tolerances, centering deviations and differences in diameter, thus always building up a playfree and tight joint. • Safe rest mandrel locking: PolyGrip® blind rivets neither generate rattling noises due to free moving rest mandrels nor do they allow the risk of loss of the rest mandrel. • Splash waterproof are the PolyGrip® blind rivets under certain conditions too.
