The mask consists of five layers of non-woven fabric. The inner layer is a non-woven fabric that absorbs moisture, including moisture shed by the wearer. The outer layer is water repellent to protect the wearer from splashes. The filter layer in the middle is the most important part of the mask because it forms a barrier against microorganisms.
