The estate is located in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade, locality « Clôs du Blanc », facing north and 2690 feet above sea level. Our vines grow on a variety of land, plains, valleys and hills, so they can fully express the potential of this unique soil. Our vineyard offers a large range of typically provençal vine types : Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, white Ugni and Vermentino. An ancient and very fine lot of Syrah overhangs the estate to the north-west : 0,65 acresplanted way back in 1947. This lot is historical in the vineyard as well as in Provence, since very few lots were planted with this type of vines before 1950. Brilliant idea of a brilliant mind ? Experiment of a passionate ? The question will remain unanswered. Two lots of Grenache and Syrah, planted on hillside more than 985 feet above sea level, give us a great vue on the Luberon hills, the medieval castle of Le Puy Sainte Réparade and the Sainte Victoire mountain.

Dating back to the 1980’s, Grand Bateau is the fruit of the collaboration between Maison Barrière and Chateau Beychevelle, our sister company. The boat which decorates this label is the mythical galleon of the famous Château Beychevelle which took part and sponsored the conception and creation of Grand Bateau. Today, Philippe Blanc, Château Beychevelle’s winemaker, provides us with the ultimate technical guidance in our famed assemblage of these wines. The “Secret” ? Simply that the wine is sourced from such illustrious estates that we have been asked not to divulge its exceptional provenance ! Rich and gracious wine, it offers all the raciness of a grand cru. It’s exceptional elegance will seduce the palates of those demanding connoisseurs.

An Estate that nurtures its vineyards with the greatest respect for natural balance and terroir since 1808. The family motto “Fac et Spera” – do and hope – says it all. Two words that sum up all the patience and daring that this art demands: patience in relation to nature which resides; daring for the winemaker, who observes, chooses and assists. The wine will be the faithful expression of this alchemy.

Beauregard Lagupeau is situated in the south of the Graves AOC. With an altitude of 112 meters, this vineyard is one of the highest in the appellation. It has been owned by the same family since 1850, and today the sixth generation of winemakers is represented by Jacques and Marie-Laure Perromat. Beauregard also produces an excellent red wine !
