Industrial processes require a possibility of a flexible joint of two or mere components that move against each other, in such a way as to maintain tightness of the connection. The solution of this problem are compensator fabrics produced by Gambit in accordance with individual needs of users or installation designers. They are used as flexible joints compensating thermal deformations, side shift, and vibrations, while muffling and reducing transfer of noise across the installation. Compensators are used in power plants, gas turbines, chemical industry, petrochemical industry, paper industry and cement industry. More and more compensators are used in exhaust gas treatment and desulphurisation. Our compensators are made of materials resistant to both high temperatures, up to 1000oC, and aggressive chemical media. Working pressure of compensator fabric is -0.2 to 0.3 bar.

Particular challenges To correct the effect of the tolerances of the parts, the welding robots path in conventional applications is usually adjusted, by means of a time consuming manual correction (teaching). The warping effect caused by the thermal expansion however cannot be compensated this way. For this purpose, QuellTech offers a perfectly tailored seam tracking solution, which is based on a QuellTech 2D-Laserline Sensor of the Q4 family. The method consists in measurement of the real position and width immediately ahead of the welding process. The laser sensor captures the real dimension of the weld bead, and the software used for this process simultaneously sends the nominal position to the robot. The robot performs a correction movement in X or Z position according to this measurement. This way not only the deviation caused by tolerances, but also the warping effect can be compensated – and the weldment takes place exactly at the required position.

For this reason the bearing has a flange on each of the two front sides. After the clip-on the bearings are secured on both sides in the plate. The clip bearings have chamfered slot on the side that enables the mounting of the bearing on one side. After the mounting the bearing straddles and lines the bore in the plate. The shaft prevents the clip bearing from slipping out of the bore. The bearing cannot slip out of the bore even in axial movements. The bearings are self-lubricating and can be used dry. If required the bearings can also be lubricated. The material iglidur® M250 is resistant to all common lubricants. The iglidur® clip bearings are the ideal solution for bearing functions with low loads. The easy mounting makes it ideal for applications with difficult bearing locations. Compressive strength The permitted static surface pressure of iglidur® M250 amounts to 20 MPa at room temperature. Due to the good adaptability to uneven surfaces of the bearing housing, a high pressure load capacity of the clip bearings persists even in punched holes. For the most small bearing surfaces, the good vibration dampening properties and the insensitivity to misalignment are of primary importance. Surface speeds Clip bearings are particularly wear resistant in slow rotating, oscillating and axial motions. You can find the maximum gliding speeds for the various motions for the iglidur® M250 material under the materials data link shown below. A lubrication at installation or continuous lubrication raises the permitted surface speeds. Clip bearings are available from stock in dimensions of 3 to 25 mm. Fixation Triflex RS For mounting, the bearings are laterally pressed together with the large flange. The chamfered slot makes the bearing spiral-shaped, whereby it can be easily inserted in the plate. The remaining slot in the attached clip bearing can compensate for linear expansions of the circumference. Thus narrow bearing clearances are possible with clip bearings. The bearing clearance is dimensioned in such a way that in a housing bore with a nominal diameter, a shaft made with the same nominal diameter turns easily. The clip bearing can be used in H-tolerance housings up to H13. The turning of the clip bearing in the bore is also permitted. Operating temperatures The wear resistance of the iglidur® clip bearings are excellent with operating temperatures till 80°C. Even at low temperature the bearings remain elastic and abrasion resistant. When to use it? Penstocks are used to discharge the headwater from a reservoir. Due to thermal and dynamic effects on the pipelines which are usually run underground in the mountain, compensation for expansion is necessary. By fitting an expansion joint, slow creep movements, eccentricity, dilation and also pipe misalignment can be reliably absorbed. The MANOY® system seal WP, type 436, was specially developed for leakagefree operation of an expansion joint.

Axial expansion joints compensate assembly tolerances and thermal longitudinal expansion in the direction of the tube axis. Depending on the design, they can be impinged with pressure internally and externally. Using a guide sleeve protects the metal bellows from abrasive media or flow-induced oscillations. The reaction forces caused by the internal pressure must be absorbed by sufficiently dimensioned anchor points.

The innovative SANHA installation system NiroTherm® combines high-quality NiroTherm® press fittings with a black sealing ring made from EPDM (=ethylene propylene diem rubber) and NiroTherm® stainless steel system tubes. The system is produced from the material 1.4301 (AISI 304). Due to the well-known corrosion resistance of stainless steel, NiroTherm® offers installers therefore a real alternative compared to conventional steels when it comes to closed systems in humid atmospheres such as screed. Since it needs considerably less isolation against humidity*, the installation is faster and labour costs accordingly lower. In addition to the system description, NiroTherm® system press fittings are marked on the outside with a red dot. * This does not affect thermal insulation necessitated by national energy efficiency laws. The piping system consists of high-grade NiroSan® press fittings with an EPDM (=ethylene propylene dien rubber) moulded sealing ring and NiroSan® stainless steel system pipes according to EN 10312. All NiroSan® press fittings are made from the premium stainless steel type 1.4404 / AISI 316L (for pressing components) and 1.4408 (for precision cast threaded stainless steel components). The material 1.4404 contains at least 2.3 % molybdenum, yet less carbon than the conventional type 1.4401. Thereby these materials are not only of equal value but in addition, material 1.4404 / 316L stands out on account of its considerably higher corrosion resistance. The NiroSan® press system and its components are certified in accordance with the rules and regulations of all important European certification bodies.
