The granulation dryer is designed for continuous operation. A unique property of this dryer is its combination of convection and contact drying. Adaptation of the retention time to the specific process ensures that products are dried at low temperatures. At the same time, excellent granulation of the final product can be achieved. This intense mixing effect separates the particles in the fluid bed, thereby creating a large product surface and preventing the generation of temperature and moisture gradients in the product bed. This leads to a significant increase in the heat exchange via the heated drum walls. The product behaviour during drying is affected by the mixing tool geometry and choppers can be activated as an option; these can be used to control the average product retention time and the retention time distribution. It is therefore possible to achieve a defined grain size distribution during granulation processes

Modular SOMOS® RDC stationary drying systems are suitable for efficiently drying virtually any kind of hygroscopic polymer pellets and regrind. The material is dried with heated drying air, optimum air distribution in the material being dried ensuring uniformly good drying results. ProTec designs and supplies RDC drying systems made to measure for all polymer processing processes. Material throughputs meet demand from individual machines right up to a plant's entire installed base of machinery.

The JETBOXX® mini top-mounted dryers are particularly applicable where small material flow rates with the highest drying precision are required. Due to their compact design, the plastic granulate dryers can be mounted on the feed section of the injection molding machine without any difficulty. The dryers are available with a volume of 0,5/1,0/2,5/5/6/12/18 litres and can be optimally adapted to your requirements with a large number of options from the JETBOXX® system. Compressed air conveyors of one or two components with or without dedusting function are available. Filling by hand is also possible via hinged covers. The compressed air-based dryers are maintenance-free and provide professional functions such as: plastic-specific and throughput dependent dryer settings, database for plastics, conveying control, week timer, overheating protection, dew point measurement, speed dial programs, personal programs, and many more.

The HELIO®MAT dryer station is part of the JETBOXX® system and features an independent JETBOXX® dryer with full functionality at each individual docking station. The material can be predried in removable drying containers at the dryer station. The drying container can be removed and brought to the processing machine if needed. It will be attached directly onto the feeding section there and the dried material can be processed. If the material should be kept dry on the machine, a JETBOXX® docking plate with dryer control are used in addition. HELIO®MAT is applicable for example as pre-drying station for quick material change, as dryer station for sampling batches, for batch drying for small quantities / sampling, for laboratory applications, or for cleanroom supply with hermetically sealed dry material containers. Material change without delay. No humidification. No cleaning issues.

JETBOXX® plastic granulate dryers are compressed air based dry-air dryers for mounting directly on the feed section of the processing machine. The JETBOXX® technology guarantees perfect drying results thanks to plastic-specific and throughput-dependent dryer settings. The dryers are available with a volume of 30/50/75 litres and can be optimally adapted to your requirements with a large number of options from the JETBOXX® system. The JETBOXX® control provides a database for plastics, conveying control, week timer, fully automatic decrease and resume of the drying intensity when production is interrupted (overheating protection), automatic restart with preheating program in 1- or 2 shift operation, dew point measurement, speed dial programs, personal programs, and many more. Compressed air conveyors of one or two components with or without dedusting function are available. The conveying control is already included.

Lödige has years of expertise in continuous granulation. Nowadays, continuous ringlayer mixers are established systems for continuous granulation in many industries. However, until now the Lödige product range was missing a suitable dryer. The continuous fluid bed dryer closes this gap. Together with the ringlayer mixer CoriMix® and the customer-specific dosing system, this dryer provides a complete continuous granulation line: GRANUCON®. Dryer operation is based on the fluid bed process. A general disadvantage of continuous fluid beds is the wide retention time distribution within the machine. Lödige’s developers have looked into this problem and have found a solution: integrating a screw in the fluid bed dryer. The SOMOS® RDF dryer is used for drying hygroscopic polymer pellets. It consists of compact RDF modules which can be flexibly combined, are capable of autonomous operation and have drying capacities of 10 kg/h to 250 kg/h per module. The modules are available in 7 sizes with a volume of between 30 l and 600 l and a drying are volume between 10 m3 and 180 m3, each one being individually controllable by its own controller. Alternatively, when interconnected, they can be controlled using a common operator control unit. Each module has an integrated air generator, so ruling out complete failure, as may occur with a centrally supplied drying system.

SOMOS® RDM mobile dryers are designed for drying highly flowable, hygroscopic polymer pellets and regrind. They can be used flexibly as auxiliary units for supplying processing machines for moderate throughputs which is a particular advantage for frequent material changes. The mobile dryers, with their attractive, functional design, consist of a dry air generator and an insulated stainless steel drying bin. They are optionally available with an integral dry air conveying unit for automatically feeding the processing machine. The dry air generator uses the SOMOS® single chamber system making highly efficient use of desiccant. As a result, the desiccant can be regenerated quickly and energy-efficiently, providing cost benefits for the processor. Having five graduated sizes of drying bin with an effective volume of 30 l to 400 l, the dryers are capable of flexibly pre-processing a volume of material suited to the processing machine's throughput right by the machine.
