An ideal positioning mechanism for alignment processing using image processing, such as in semiconductor/liquid crystal manufacturing equipment, or for measuring instruments or testing and inspection equipment requiring clean environments.

The tolerances of the bearing and mounting surfaces shall conform to the process tolerances of the guide rails (standard quality). The prestress applied depends on the respective mounting conditions, on the rigidity of the assembled slide structure respectively. We recommend to apply a prestress equivalent to a value between 5 and 20 % of the maximum admissible load. However, the load carrying ability of the overall guide rail structure thus realized will, at any case, be reduced by the prestress applied.

The control elements are equipped with dovetail guides ("hard-slide" coating) or cross roller guides and are rack & pinion, micrometer or worm driven. They have minimized backlash and a straightness accuracy within a few microns. The control elements can be equipped with one or two knobs or without any knob. Multi-axle systems can be built up using the control elements and corresponding connection elements. An intermediate plate (B40-RP) is required to attach the tube elements.

The fields of application for our linear stages LT and PT are widely spread. They are used where highest requirements on straightness deviations, noise behaviour or positioning accuracy are demanded. The open frame XY stages KT are especially designed to provide high accuracy in compact dimensions. By the modular concept, they can be equipped with different motors and measuring systems.
