Coconut oil (Cocos nucifera) INCI: Cocos nucifera oil Coconut oil is a vegetable fat extracted from the "copra" - the kernel of the coconut. In the tropics, it is the main fat that enters the daily menu of millions of people. It is most often obtained by hot pressing the dried inside of the coconut, and less often by the cold pressing method. This method is more gentle, which allows to preserve all the beneficial properties of the oil. At low temperatures, coconut oil has a creamy (below 24 °C) to solid (below 18 °C) texture and white color, and at high temperatures (above 25 °C) it resembles oil and has a clear transparent color. It is suitable for all skin types, especially useful for dry, sensitive and highly dehydrated skin, against stretch marks, as well as for anti-cellulite massage of problem areas. It is also used as a face cream. It is used after exposure to the sun or during the cold months, when the skin is the driest and needs nourishment.
