Hire of portable interpreting sets or "bidules" Portable interpreting sets: The ideal solution for meetings on a smaller scale For meetings on a smaller scale, we are able to offer you portable interpreting sets. The sets consist of a microphone into which interpreters whisper and 20 headsets. This makes it the ideal solution for company visits or meetings on a smaller scale, such as negotiations, an interview, a site visit or a practical training seminar. Using a portable interpreting set (also known as 'bidule' within the profession) requires some discipline from the participants as no sound amplification is used and the interpreters have to whisper into the microphone.

Your interpreter: the link between you and your speaking partners In liaison interpreting, the interpreter translates after each statement. This means that the interpreting follows the original speech, as with consecutive interpreting. No technical equipment is needed for liaison interpreting. This method is used for face-to-face meetings, interviews, hearings or negotiations, for example. Consecutive interpreting: taking notes and reformulating a speech In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter firstly takes notes whilst the speech is being given. After several minutes have passed, the interpreter reformulates the speech’s main points. There is no need for any specialist equipment for consecutive interpreting. The interpreter is seated around the meeting table, preferably alongside the speaker. This interpreting technique is used less frequently as there is the obvious drawback of prolonging your meeting time as the same content has to be heard twice: once from the speaker and then again from the interpreter. Simultaneous interpreting: the art of word play Interpreting or simultaneous interpreting consists of instantaneously reproducing a speech given in another language whilst the person is making the speech. For smaller groups or company visits, we are able to offer you ad hoc equipment consisting of a microphone for the interpreters and 20 headsets for participants.
