Burrs are splinters, fraying, or edges that occur during machining processes. Tyrolit tools make removing these easy. Our nonwoven products are ideal for finer deburring work on materials like stainless steel, nonferrous metals, titanium, and high-alloy steels. Applications include surgical instruments, turbine construction, products for the chemical and food industries, design objects, and more. For coarser deburring and rough grinding, flap or fiber discs are typically used. Tyrolit's product range for deburring and finishing surfaces is extensive. It includes various non-woven products like discs, rolls, belts, and points for use on steel, stainless steel, nonferrous metals, and plastic. Our high-quality polishing program, featuring first-class discs for angle grinders and different polishing pastes, is perfect for removing final scratches. Tyrolit offers tools for every finishing application.

During the aluminum casting process, the metal melt is either poured or pressed into the mold. This process is used, for example, to manufacture cylinder heads, wheel rims and many other aluminum castings. Here, the mold has to repeatedly withstand the metal melt at a temperature of over 600 °C: for inserts made of our tungsten-heavy metal alloy Densimet® and the molybdenum alloy TZM, that's not a problem. The benefits to you: — Shorter cycle times — Top surface quality for your products — Long mold service life — No cracks in the mold insert Tailor-made mold inserts, sprue bushes, cooling inserts and other individual parts as well as semi-finished products for your mold are available.

Plansee collimators are made of tungsten heavy metal alloys (Densimet® alloys). Due to the high density of the material, collimators perfectly shield from x-rays and gamma rays and therefore protect the healthy tissue during radiotherapy. Densimet® tungsten alloys are distinguished by their particularly high density. Combined with their ability to absorb radiation as well as their outstanding mechanical properties and machinability. Particular material properties: — high density of 17.0 to 18.8g/cm³ — better machinability compared to pure tungsten — high Young’s modulus and very good mechanical properties — high absorption capacity for X-rays and gamma rays — harmless to the health and environment

Welding electrodes made of tungsten, molybdenum and their alloys are particularly suitable for welding highly conductive materials such as copper. They are used in the following processes: Spot welding, Roller welding, Projection welding, Upset welding. Welding electrodes made from our refractory metals and their alloys have a relatively high level of electrical conductivity while also exhibiting outstanding stability at high temperatures. They therefore have a considerably longer service life than conventional materials such as copper and copper alloys.
