Generally, as here solenoid force is used, generally this force is counter with the pressure force and/or spring force to Open or Close the solenoid valve. Due the same it has a limitation on the combination of orifice and pressure rating it can provide for a given solenoid force. There are some exception designs which are called pressure balance solenoid valve design but apart from that most of the 3 way direct acting solenoid valve design has this limitation.
