Passionflower

Passiflora, commonly known as passiflora or passion flower, is a genus of climbing and creeping plants belonging to the family Passifloraceae. This genus includes around 550 species, many of which are known for their showy flowers and fruits. They are native to America but have been successfully cultivated in various parts of the world. The leaves of Passiflora are alternate, palmate or lobed, with serrated margins. They are often quite striking and add ornamental appeal to the plant. The flowers have a unique structure with a complex system of floral organs. The calyx is formed by petals and sepals, and in the center, there is a structure resembling a crown or corolla, with filaments surrounding the central organ. This crown is a distinctive feature of passiflora flowers. Passiflora plants are vigorous climbers that can cover large areas.
