L'Hetre 2019 75cl - AOC Côtes de Castillon

History: A tiny Castillon estate owned by Jacques Thienpoint, located in the extension of L'If, not far from Troplong Mondot or behind the Tertre de La Mouleyre. Very old vines, always organic, with limestone and clay, the best terroir. Cabernet Franc is the reference here. A competitor of Clos Louie and Domaine de L'A. A truly grand entrance by Jacques into Castillon. Grapes: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc Vinification: Temperature-controlled concrete tanks Aging: 15 months in barrels, of which 30% are new barrels, 70% are used barrels Tasting: The 2019 L’Hêtre is rich and deep in color with beautiful aromas of autumn fruits; it is precise and fruity with smoky and spicy notes. The texture is silky and fresh with a very digestible acidity backbone and present yet silky tannins.
