The DV 100 series vortex flowmeter is based on the Karman effect (i.e., the generation of vortices). When the fluid flows over a non-aerodynamic body, it splits, creating small vortices (alternating vortices) that generate areas of varying pressure detected by a sensor. The frequency of these vortices is directly related to the fluid's velocity.
The DV 100 series is used to measure the flow of liquids and gases, including steam (saturated or superheated). It has demonstrated excellent reliability in commercial transactions.
