SILCAVAC – molded parts and SILCABOARD – boards are vacuum-formed fiber products. This production method represents the most economical solution for larger quantities in a variety of geometries. SILCAVAC / SILCABOARD 126 27N and 143 28N are made from aluminum silicate fibers as well as organic and inorganic binders. In SILCAVAC / SILCABOARD 160 25N, part of the aluminum silicate fibers is replaced by polycrystalline fibers. SILCAVAC / SILCABOARD 170 40N and 180 40N are produced from polycrystalline fibers along with organic and inorganic binders. The use of inorganic fillers achieves higher bulk densities. Special mixtures for temperatures up to 1,800 °C are available for the production of SILCAVAC / SILCABOARD. Further treatments of SILCAVAC / SILCABOARD are possible if needed. The molded parts and boards can be treated between 800 °C and 1,100 °C.
