Thin film dryers are capable of continuously drying pasty, crystallizing, or amorphous products. Heat is transferred from the stator (cylindrical heating jacket) to the product, while the rotor equipped with special scrapers enhances heat and mass transfer to achieve the dried solid.
Thanks to the turbulence created, significant capacities can be achieved with shorter residence times than in conventional drying systems. Depending on the application and the consistency of the product to be processed in the thin film dryer, either vertical or horizontal equipment will be selected.
