The Reactotherm is a universal processing device with an intensive mixing and kneading effect and self-cleaning capability. It is used for the thermal processing of a wide variety of pasty, viscous, and dirty products. It can be operated continuously or in batches. The Reactotherm consists of a horizontal cylindrical shell and a rotor with segmented discs and mixing bars. The mixing hooks are fixed to the inside of the shell. The narrow distance between the mixing hooks, the segmented discs, and the rotor results in a high mixing and kneading effect and the self-cleaning properties of the rotor. The interior of the shell is cleaned by the mixing bars. This prevents the soiling of heat exchange surfaces and the formation of agglomerates. The shell, rotor shaft, and discs can be heated or cooled. The transport of the product is carried out by the slightly inclined mixing bars.
