Calcast® Cc155 G16

CALCAST® CC 155 G4, G8, and G16 are calcium silicate/graphite composite materials that combine the mechanical and physical properties of graphite and calcium silicate. The result is materials with tailored and enhanced properties in high-temperature applications, particularly for use in casting processes with non-ferrous metals. CALCAST® CC 155 G4, G8, and G16 reduce wetting with liquid aluminum. After contact with the metal, there are almost no residues left. This minimizes the transport of oxides into the component and further reduces the consumption of aluminum alloys. Thermal Conductivity The proportion of graphite in the calcium silicate determines the properties of the material. In particular, the thermophysical properties such as thermal conductivity and reversible expansion behavior are influenced by the anisotropic graphite crystals. Thermal conductivity increases with a higher proportion of the graphite component.
