Soybean Oil - Raw Materials

Soybean oil is one of the most widely used vegetable oils in the world. It is cultivated in many countries and is, for example, the most consumed oil in the USA. It can be used for cooking but is less suitable for frying, as the oil degrades quickly when temperatures exceed 150°C. The meal, which is the residue from pressing the seeds to extract the oil, is also reused, especially in the animal feed sector. Its nutritional profile is quite interesting, with an Omega 6 / Omega 3 ratio hovering around 7 to 9, which is slightly above the ratio of 5 generally considered ideal. However, its cultivation is often associated with the notion of GMOs and deforestation in the Amazon. In terms of our production, we source very little soybean oil, generally preferring more local distribution networks with rapeseed and sunflower oils. However, it is often found in margarines produced in the USA.
