As we all know that for many years Turkey has been the thırd largest supplıer of olive & olive oil to the WORLD after Italy and Spain. Thought it varies from year to year, up to 70% of Turkish olive oil is exported in bulk to Italy, Spain, the US and other nations. It is often blended, bottled and re-exported to the US as “bottled in Italy” or “imported from Italy”. The olive tree originated in the region that is now Turkey (“Asian Minor” or “Anatolia”) and later spread around the Mediterranean. The olives in Turkey are mostly harvested by hand and are often grown in organic conditions.
