ROBERT SCOTT & SONS LIMITED IS Europe's leading mop manufacturer. The family business was first established in 1925, when a spinning and weaving mill producing cleaning cloths was opened by Robert Scott’s father James Scott. The business passed to Robert in 1939 and he continued running the business until 1959. Then after reduction of the capacity in the textile industry the mill was closed and Robert Scott immediately re-started manufacturing in new premises establishing a small range of cleaning products, including mops. Over its 90 year history, the company is one of the last remaining set of working mills totalling over 380, 000 sq ft in Lancashire.
