All cable testers have at least one memory for storing a known-good cable to test other cables against it. Cables with nine cores or less have LEDs on the cable testers to indicate a connection. For cables with more than nine cores, a 2 or 4-line alphanumerical display presents the test results. Most testers in the CableJoG range are single-button operation, making them easy and fast to operate.
