As Nanogenair company, we have developed a new technology inspired by nature. In Nanogenair products, we used a UV-A lamp instead of the currently used UV-C light. By comparison, there are three different types of UV light. The shorter wavelength of the UV light means the more harmful UV radiation. UV-C has the shortest wavelength, UV-B has the second shortest wavelength, and UV-A has the longest wavelength. This means that UV-A rays are least harmful type of UV lights.Technically, UV-C rays are more effective at inactivating the viruses than UV-A rays. According to a research, highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 viruses were exposed to UV-C radiation (254 nm) and UV-A radiation (365 nm). The viruses were on a plate and the UV source was placed at 3 cm from each. With UV-C radiation, viruses were completely inactivated within 9 minutes and 50% inactivated after 1.4 minutes. Owing to UV-A radiation, the effect was weak even after 15 minutes. In summary, UV-C light is more effective in struggle with the viruses, bacteria etc. but much more harmful to the environment and health. Nanogenair has addressed this dilemma and developed a solution that makes UV-A more effective while remaining environmentally friendly.UV-A light has the longest wavelength (315-400 nm) and is the closest to daylight. The nano-coating on the reactor absorbs this light into itself and uses it to break up the water vapor in the air passing through the reactor.
