The station was inaugurated on 22/12/1975 by Don Salvador Sánchez-Terán, the then Sub-Secretary of Public Works, and the city mayor of the time, Don Pablo Beltrán de Heredia y Onís. Major renovation and modernisation works were carried out on the coach station in 2018 and 2019.
