...Metal pickling is the process responsible for removing impurities or surface finishes that a piece may have, such as spots, oxides, or other impurities, in order to clean it before applying another treatment such as, for example, "zinc plating", "phosphating", or "bluing". This is useful when we want to give a different coating to the material or, for whatever reason, we have had to touch it up after coating and want to re-coat it entirely. The pickling process consists of applying chemicals, such as acids, to remove the oxide layer applied in other processes and restore its original state.
