The latest generation of FLÖTER systems is able to process films of 12 µm. Many tonnes of CO2, which would have been produced when manufacturing heavy consumables, can consequently be saved. Our range includes certified air cushions made of 100% recycled paper, which are in turn 100% recyclable. AirWave organic bubble wrap (made of a potato starch blend) are 100% home-compostable. The climate-neutral AirWave bubble wrap has been awarded with the 'Blue Angel' label and is also one of our sustainable products. But environmental protection at FLÖTER already begins far earlier than this. Climate change is already at the forefront of our thoughts in product development. The origin of company “Liepajas Papīrs” dates back to 1896, when Victor Smit founded the Victor Smit’s Glossy Paper and Cardboard Factory of Liepāja and built the factory building in 1898. The factory's first production was glossy paper and cardboard, but later, it also started manufacturing photo plates. In 1993 the status of the company was changed, and Joint Stock Company “Liepājas Papīrs” was founded. The company gradually increased the volumes of printing production and in 2005, it started the transition from the production of various white goods to labels and stickers printing.
