Mollusan Europe is the producer of Mollusan® MED, a preparation used in a treatment of molluscum contagiosum. It is a medical product sold without a prescription. The formulation was developed based on natural ingredients for effective treatment of molluscum contagiosum. Products available on the market and traditional treatment methods of molluscum contagiosum are usually invasive and stressful for the child. They may be painful thus are being performed under local anaesthesia. The most commonly used are curettage, laser therapy and freezing out. Unfortunately all can leave scars on the patient’s skin and not all lesions can be removed in one procedure. Medical product Mollusan® MED is recommended for a treatment of molluscum contagiosum (water warts) in children and adults. It is used for 3 to 4 weeks. One package is enough for a full treatment. Mollusan® MED is a liquid preparation which is applied with a dedicated dropper directly on the skin lesions. It should be used systematically, 2-3 times daily, to get the results you want. At first the skin may be reddened, however the eruptions will decrease and dry up, and then disappear. The skin will return to its natural appearance.
