We started in 1991 making our own workshop and we created our first handmade items of mouthblown glass. After a 13 year experience on glass, working with it freely without moulds, we tried to make handmade glass beads in 2004. Our success in this area encouraged us to create new items and experiment with new materials such as copper, brass, sterling silver... Since then we design and create handmade lamps, mirrors, clocks, artistic jewellery, wedding crowns and anything else that inspires us! In 2005, we inaugurated our own shop in the center of Thessaloniki, Greece. Recently, in 2015, we moved to Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, where we continue our inspiring creations. We are members at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Leith Lapidary Club and design Gap. All our items are distinguished for their original natural style which allows for the handmade nature of the object and the original earth materials we use, to be brought out. They are made with love and personal care!

After 22 years establishing a successful business from my studio and shop at Manchester Craft and Design Centre, I’m now relocating and expanding my workspace to a larger, dedicated jewellery studio. I’ll be focusing my time on private commissions and online orders, alongside this my work being shown and sold through galleries and shows nationally. I have built a reputation for professionalism and friendliness with an emphasis on customer-centred service. This will continue to be my priority from my custom built studio in Chapel en le Frith, in the beautiful Peak District where customers old and new will be welcome by appointment. My loyal Manchester based folk need not worry, my work will still be for sale, and I will be available to discuss commission ideas, face to face, on the 1st Saturday of every month, back at Studio 4 at MCDC.

Each individual piece of jewelry is produced in our family home in Zagreb, which has been turned into our workshop. For many years, we have sold our products along the Croatian coast. In 1997, Brela became our summer refuge. In 2001, we opened our first gallery, the Art Club, in Baška Voda. For all these years, we have continually sold our pieces in these two places. We would like to thank all the beautiful people we have met while working there, who have purchased our jewelry, and who have served as a great inspiration for our work and finally, for the opening of this WEB shop. Through this, we wish to be available to everyone, anywhere and anytime, even outside the tourism season. Maemi is for women and girls with a leisurely style, who love to bring a dash of brightness into their daily life, and love to wear their jewelry for a long, long time, regardless of the circumstances, the years that pass, fashion and trends.
