...pewter casting was a popular craft, but today it is rarely found. The "silver of the common man" has always been highly valued for its positive properties, both then and now, as it is corrosion-resistant, decorative, and non-toxic – making it ideal for the production of tableware. Pewter has a long tradition and has been documented for over 2000 years. Nowadays, pewter is also commonly used in the field of soldering as well as in the tinning of food-safe cans and even in medicine.
