Fergana Furan Compounds Plant, a unified company, was founded in 1946 in response to the need to use technical ethanolyl alcohol in the defence industry. In 1965, facilities for producing tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol and fodder yeast were built, and hydrogen and nitrogen plants were put into operation. In 2002, German company Unionmatex ordered the production of cotton pulp with a capacity of 30, 000 tonnes per year, which cost, according to the company, around $50 million. In 2012, Fargona Kimyo Zavodi LLC was founded on the basis of the Fergana Furan Compounds Plant. The company is one of the largest producers of cotton pulp in Uzbekistan. Our products are used as raw materials in many manufacturing companies. Today, 80% of our products are exported, to Bulgaria, China, Germany, Serbia, Russia and other CIS countries.

We collect and sell old textiles and old shoes, mainly from charity containers. Monthly volumes weigh in at approx. 350 tonnes. Whether it's oil or energy, there is no denying our resources are becoming increasingly scarce. The fibres in textiles need both of these resources. And yet, despite old paper having been collected and recycled for decades, the same cannot be said of old clothing. With every item of clothing that ends up in the bin, valuable raw materials go to waste.
