Vacuum-tight metal ceramic composite components – manufactured from the high-performance material aluminium oxide and a metallic join partner – are the core business of Alumina Systems GmbH. These components are used where switching of maximum energies is involved, e.g. in energy, laser, X-ray, plasma, medical and accelerator technology. A great advantage of technical ceramics is the high electrical insulation up to high temperatures. Here, ceramic composite components first allow the application to be realised. At Alumina Systems, mechanical/thermal stresses on a component are simulated here via the finite element method (FEM) even before the actual construction of the component, and the most suitable design for the application is thus selected – without having to produce a real component.

This is how the firing tables for oxyfuel and plasma cutting, for instance, were enlarged again, processing units were implemented and new flame cutting machines were continually acquired. An annealing furnace, the robot cutting system for chamfers and a roller round off our ability to refine "standard flame-cut parts". We stock approx. 15, 000 tonnes of heavy plates in various material grades, such as S235JR+N / S355J2+N / P355NL2/NH / P265GH / ASME SA 516 size 60/70 and shipbuilding steels of level A to F36. Plates up to a material thickness of 300 mm, a width of 4500 mm and a length of 16, 000 mm are permanently stored and processed. Thanks to the perfect location of our company in northern Hanover with access to the Mittelland Canal, its own rail connection and proximity to the highway, autogena is also able to supply oversized parts.
