CERAMIC METAL COMPONENTS FOR USE IN HIGH-TECH APPLICATIONS. Vacuum-tight metal ceramic composite components – manufactured from the high-performance material aluminium oxide and a metallic join partner – are the core business of Alumina Systems GmbH. These components are used where switching of maximum energies is involved, e.g. in energy, laser, X-ray, plasma, medical and accelerator technology. A great advantage of technical ceramics is the high electrical insulation up to high temperatures. Fields of application are, for instance Sensors in ship engines (thin-wire bonding), precursor gas distributing rings with wafer coating (PE-ALD) or small engines for satellites. Here, ceramic composite components first allow the application to be realised. In addition to standard products like electrical feedthroughs, vacuum switching tubes or vacuum insulators, the demand for customer-specific high-end applications is constantly increasing. At Alumina Systems, mechanical/thermal stresses on a component are simulated here via the finite element method (FEM) even before the actual construction of the component, and the most suitable design for the application is thus selected – without having to produce a real component.

  2. LK METROLOGY GMBH

    Germany

LK Metrology is one of the leading manufacturers of 3D coordinate measuring machines and has decades of tradition. Founded in the 1960s – near to where Rolls Royce is based – working together with Renishaw, LK developed the first electronic probes and later built the first controlled measuring machine. As a result of its continual development work, LK was also the first manufacturer to consistently use ceramic structures over many years. These structures are an ideal material for use in measuring technology because they are both lightweight and thermally stable. LK's product range includes portable measuring machines, which measure 500 mm to 7000 mm horizontally and stand measuring machines with dimensions of 3000 mm vertically and 2500 mm horizontally. The latter are also available in a ceramic design with air bearings and has the same accuracy as the portable devices. LK CMMs have different levels of accuracy, meaning that they can be used in laboratories, precision measuring rooms and manufacturing. With regard to sensor systems, the company offers the full Renishaw range, as well as the complete Nikon laser series.

  3. INNO-SPEC GMBH

    Germany

The company concentrates on the market of optical multichannel spectrometer technology with the diversity of its products. The building blocks of this technology are permanently adjusted, thermally stable, and compactly-constructed-diffraction-components coupled with the corresponding multichannel photo sensors and sensor electronics. These assemblies defined as spectrometer modules are implemented for applications from UV to NIR (190 to 2500 nm). The respective spectral performance is realised according to the application by means of a suitable combination of optical gratings, slits, and sensor technologies. We also offer a broad range of individual parts and components for realising proprietary measurement systems to OEM customers.
