With almost 30 years of experience in filtration, AQUACHEM offers an efficient and optimal solution for many applications. We are particularly proud of our AF filter machines. The fully automatic press is a mature and reliable system that has already proven itself many times under the toughest conditions. Compared to our competitors in the market, the difference we offer lies in myriad details and, primarily, in the definition of 'fully automatic operation'. The AF filter machine continuously produces and empties filter cakes without the presence of an operator. It is guaranteed that no medium can escape in an uncontrolled manner. On the other hand, our BC series for semi-automatic applications impresses with its simplicity and at the same time maximum convenience for the operator. Small manual filter presses up to format 630 are covered by the EC series. The LCM 320 (Pocket Press Membrane), however, can be used mobile on a practical trolley, ideally on site. This machine can also be used as a test filter press in a case to make a suitable choice of cloth or to check the filterability of the suspension. Portrait of the SGL Carbon site in Wackersdorf: The SGL Carbon site in Wackersdorf, in the Upper Palatinate, is part of the Carbon Fibres division. Here, about 140 highly-qualified staff deal with the production of mats and non-woven fabrics from carbon, glass or natural fibres. The diverse product range of over 150 product variants is rounded off with the subsequent process step of stacking. This involves superimposing different layers of mats, cutting them into stacks and joining them, all per customer specification. These stacks are then processed by the customer to produce preforms or finished components. Every year, SGL Carbon produces over 8, 000 tons of carbon, glass or natural fibre mats at the Wackersdorf site. The site also boasts three stacking machines with a capacity of over 2 million stacks per year. The products from Wackersdorf are used in a wide range of sectors, albeit primarily in the automotive and aerospace industries. Several recycling facilities serve to recycle the production waste that cannot be avoided in the process. All the facilities are powered by green electricity. Our SIGRATEX textile materials are the ideal basis for producing high-quality, fibre-reinforced plastics. They are suitable for a wide range of processing operations.

The company was founded in 1986 as a sole trader business by Edgar Hohmann, who was trained as an industrial engineer. Such was the company's growth that he very soon needed more space and had to rent an entire hall, where operations continued until the current production site was built in 1992. In 2011, the company was passed on to the second generation, ably led by Managing Directors Karin Hohmann-Riecke (Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing., MSc.) and Stefan Hohmann (master craftsman, business manager). In 2020, the existing production hall was extended to increase production and manufacture capacities. The company presently employs 18 people and operates 10 CNC turning machines, a milling centre, a laser marking machine, Trowal machines and many other finishing and measuring machines. Furthermore, we have long-standing working relationships with many partners, enabling us to offer a one-stop shop for most additional processing works such as nickel plating and tin plating.
